Legend has it that if you wish upon a shooting star, or technically meteoroid that burns up and glows after entering the Earth’s atmosphere, those wishes will come true. Since ancient times, many people across cultures have followed and believed in the myth. The streaks of light have even inspired the makings of numberless works of art. I’m standing with the other Pragmatics in this, though. In my humble opinion, these stuff are logically not related at all.
I kinda see the whole thing this way. They’re merely wishful thinking, until you have had your heart set on those things and put your nose to the grindstone. Then God will do some ‘assessment’ to determine if it’s about time your wishes are granted or like, not yet dude. With such way of thinking, too, I’m listing down my wishes into a bucket and put it up here. They are the experiences and achievements (of which I can think right now) I will buckle down to accomplish before I die.

1. Buy my parents a beautiful house with no less beautiful front and back yard where we can do some gardening. 🌷🌸🌹🌺🌻🌼🌿
2. Take my parents to the holy city of Mecca to carry out a pilgrimage and religious duty that is Hajj and then Umrah at the other time(s).
3. Invest in property and stocks (have always wanted to do so since I first went to the Stock Exchange building in Jakarta).
4. Travel across Indonesian alluring archipelago with family. To the real-world paradise, Raja Ampat. Woohoo!

5. Globe-trot with family, especially to:
- Austria: When I was little, one of my parents’ acquaintances gave us a desk calendar with pictures of breath-taking landscapes in Austria. I’ve always wanted to set foot in the country since.
- Norway: If you subscribe to SaraBeautyCorner youtube channel, you’ll know why. 😊
- Denmark: Our father of modern fairytales H. C. Andersen’s motherland. And unsurprisingly, also the happiest country in the world.
- Switzerland: The home of world’s finest chocolate, it’s got green meadows and the Alps too.
- Netherlands: Mainly ‘blamed’ Hazel and Gus for this one, although I do want to bring my parents to Keukenhof to see tulips and try cycling through the streets of Amsterdam as well.
- France: Eiffel Tower? Okay. But what make France so attractive to me personally are their desserts, their pastries. Kim Sam Soon got me falling in love at first sight with this exquisite Raspberry Mille-Feuille (starts @ 0:56).

- The US: I don’t even know why, but I used to always like city lights better than the silence of a forest or mount. I thought it’d be quite an experience to stand among pedestrians in busy night Times Square a.k.a the Crossroads of the World, and then watch a broadway show!
6. Be able to speak fluently in Chinese—Mandarin preferably but Cantonese is okay, and/or Japanese.
7. Attend the concerts of my favorite singers either in Indonesia or
overseas. We gotta admit that foreign slash western artists tend to overlook Indonesia despite being the 4th most populous country.
8. Meet Kyuhyun in person. This can be included in point 6, but besides
concert, I really do want to go to his fan-meeting and/or fan-signing event. To
be that intimate with him, I might be tongue-tied and going in full-blown cry mode, ugly-sobbing my face off in front of him. 😢

9. Visit American Horror Story and Game of Thrones filming locations. I want to meet Evan Peters and Emilia Clarke, take pictures with them and ask for autographs! 💕
10. Go to Madame Tassauds and take pictures with the doppelgängers of phenomenal figures like Gandhi, Mandela, Hussein, Sukarno and Hitler. I sure as hell would get goosebumps rolling down my whole body seeing them from a breath’s distance, especially Hitler’s, with how incredibly lifelike their wax figures are.

11. Open up a bakery or restaurant for my mum, since she has always loved baking and cooking and such.
12. Buy a vintage 1950’s house like Baker family’s in Flipped, or a rooftop house, or a normal house with a pyeong-sang (Idk if other countries have similar thing to this but in Indonesia we have this lookalike called bale bale) placed in the front yard à la Korean dramas. It’d be fabulous if I could have one with all three
qualities combined.
I need to separate this from the house mentioned in
point 1, cause this house is what I imagine as a peaceful place where
our family members can hang our hat in. At the times when we feel like
slowing down our fast-paced lives and take a deep breath of fresh air to
recharge energy, or when we feel like we have had enough of such a
lifestyle and reckon that this home is where we want to spend the rest
of our lives in.
