There
was a blind girl who hated herself just because she was blind. She
hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for
her. She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her
boyfriend.
One
day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she could see
everything, including her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her, “Now that
you can see the world, will you marry me?”
The
girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend was blind too, and
refused to marry him. Her boyfriend walked away in tears, and later
wrote a letter to her saying:
“Just take care of my eyes, dear.”
First off, let me emphasis that we are not gonna discuss about whether the story is real or fake. We are not.
One famous Japanese proverb says “a satiated mouth soon forgets the benefactor,” doesn’t it perfectly sum it all up? The girl might have not known that her now ex-boyfriend had gifted her his own eyes, or practically given her a brand new sights to look forward to every time she lift her eyelids. But she must have known that he’s been treating her good and sticking through her darkest days (both in figurative and literal meaning) fully aware of her condition. Being visually-challenged should never disqualify him from being the most perfect boyfriend, the most pure-hearted and wonderful man to ever step into her life
When someone gives you their eyes, two of the most vital organs in one’s body, it’s not unlikely they would lay down their life for you to be happy. So, if I knew her in real life, I would totally come up to her and scream right in her face “you had one selfless, precious angel boyfriend, but cut him out of your life for being like exactly how you used to be. Girl, tell me how come you suck ass so freaking hard!!!!” Her dumping him for being how she has lived her life for years is so ironic, it boggles my mind.
Never forget the person who helped you stand up when you were limping, instead of running away on their own. The best people in life are those who never leave our side when we're at the lowest point of our life, they are the ones worth being cherished and kept forever.
